On May 6, 2021, I was twenty-nine. That day, I took a photograph of myself, and as I did, I wondered, If I live to see thirty, how it would feel to look back and see myself in this moment. I was certain it would be my last. I intended that photo as a goodbye note that said—by showing—everything I wanted my wife to know, but my words could never capture.♣[1]
